Student Photo ID Cards
Students required to wear school ID cards at all times.
  • The Board of Education recently adopted Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) Policy 6412, which requires all high school students to visually display their official LPS student photo identification (ID) cards. This requirement will be effective beginning with the 2007-2008 academic school year.
  • Students will be required to wear their school ID cards at all times in school. This practice will require that students will have to move their ID cards from their pockets, wallets, or purses, to break-away lanyards worn around their necks.
  • Students will also need to show or display their ID cards to purchase all tickets for school activities. As usual, students will be required to have their ID cards and tickets to enter all school dances.
  • During locker check-out days, students will have their pictures taken, ID cards will be made, and school identified break-away lanyards will be given to students to visibly display their ID cards. If a student forgets to bring the ID card to school, he or she will be given an opportunity to receive a temporary or a permanent ID replacement card. There will be no cost to the students for the initial ID cards and lanyards, however students will be assessed a fee for permanent and temporary replacement ID cards.

Early Release Tuesdays Promote Innovation!
Weekly schedules have been adjusted to allow teachers time on Tuesdays to collaborate on Academy work. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday classes were extended by a few minutes and Tuesday classes were shortened by a few minutes to make the innovative program possible. Students will be excited to know they still have the same amount of instructional time in their week as other LPS schools. ;-)

Supervised After-School Study Hall
Mon, Wed, Thu, & Fri. from 3:10-4:00 in A100.
Tuesday from 2:00-3:15 in the Bayou commons.

All students at school after hours must be in a supervised activity. No loitering is allowed. Students waiting for practice or another activity to begin must be in the supervised study hall. Students waiting for the late bus must also be in the study hall.

North Star Tardy Policy       Tardy = 30 min. Detention
Students are losing valuable instruction time when not getting to class on time. It also affects the learning environment for the rest of the students who are on time and prepared to learn. Consequently, any student in the hallway after the tardy bell has sounded is subject to an automatic 30-minute after school detention. Any student stopped in the hallway without a pass or walks into class late will be given a 30-minute after school detention. Those who do not show up on the first night assigned to ASD will get a written notice on the second day. Failure to complete the after school detention will result in a one day out of school suspension. Every day the after school detention list is posted on the Main Office window at the end of the school day. Thank you for your support of student learning.
