LINCOLN NORTH STAR HIGH SCHOOL STANDOUT, JERALYN POE, NAMED GATORADE NEBRASKA GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE YEAR

In its 28th year of honoring the nation's best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, in collaboration with USA TODAY High School Sports, today announced Jeralyn Poe of Lincoln North Star High School as its 2012-13 Gatorade Nebraska Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year. Poe is the first Gatorade Nebraska Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year to be chosen from Lincoln North Star High School.

Another outstanding showing from our drama department.

The LNS one-act play received the Outstanding Drama award at the one-act festival Nov. 22, 2011. Our very own Josh Schafer won the Best Actor award out of all of the shows that were put on at LNS and was also honored as a part of the overall All Festival Cast.

Congratulations to Jace Stevens and Milla Heikkeinen who completed essays for the World Food Prize essay contest.

Milla and Jace presented their papers and represented North Star at a state-wide Conference on Food Security at UNL on Friday, September 23. Milla was named an alternate to the State-Wide Team and both students were awarded $500 scholarships to UNL as a result of their work.

Recongition program.  They will have their pictures in the Omaha World
Herald on Sunday, May 22nd.
