A Joint Venture of Lincoln Public Schools and Southeast Community College


 What is The Career Academy(TCA)?

The Career Academy is an opportunity for juniors and seniors in high schools to explore a potential career pathway while becoming both college-and career-ready.  This joint venture between LPS and SCC allows students to earn SCC credits while continuing to earn high school credits toward their high school diploma. The new facility will be located on the SCC Lincoln campus at 88th & O Street.  Transportation will be provided for all students from their home high school.

*Opening in August of 2015 for juniors and seniors during the 2015-16 school year.

*TCA will have capacity for over 500 students during each 2-hour session

            - The morning session for juniors will be held 8:10 to 10:10 a.m.

            - The afternoon session for seniors will be held 12:45 to 2:45 p.m.

*Students spend the majority of their day back in their home high school (4 periods).

*Busing from each high school is required due to limited on site parking and fixed start/end times.

*Programs available:

  • Business, Marketing, and Management: Financial Services and Business Management/Marketing/Entrepreneurship
  • Communication and Information Systems: Programming, Database Management, Networking
  • Skilled and Technical Sciences: Engineering, Precision Manufacturing, Construction Trades, Welding and Auto Tech
  • Health Sciences and Education:  Early Childhood Education, K-12 Education, & Culinary Arts
